what criteria did you utilize to determine these rankings? your staff see them? you process a coaches poll? what are their statistics? how about team records? just thinking this poll thru. thanks for the great web site.

As with any pre or post season list it is entirely subjective. However, we do use a criteria based on the following:

1.Recruiting Attention: Are they being recruited by Div 1 colleges?
2.Performance: Stats, league and summer-camp awards
3.Buzz: What are other media outlets saying about the kid
4.Word of mouth: What are other coaches, players, etc saying?
5.Game Film/Live: Have we seen the kid in action?
6.Staff analysis of the above: Members of our staff have played Div1 football, coached, or played competitive sports themselves. We add a bit of that ‘expert’ analysis into any ranking.

You may ask what about Eastern Wa kids? You could rightfully argue for 1 or 2 kids from Eastern Washington on that list. We will put out our list of the 11-20 statewide and I bet you will find a few E. Wash kids on there…

    Who would you put?

**Editors Note: After reviewing the post I reviewed our staff picks and found that I made a mistake and neglected to recognize a staff members picks, which placed Mike Marboe and Aaron Dunn in the top 10 (which this staff member had ranked #5 and #4 respectively). I apologize for the omission.

Thanks for the web site and the list. The East Side Kids, Marboe, Dunn, Halladay are exceptional kids who play a greatgame of football. Because they are on the wrong side of the hill, as is often the case, they get overlooked. Nice to see an unbiased evaluation.

Zach Sumerlin? He’s 6’3″ 260 fast fast fast and man is this kid powerful! Offensive AND defensive lineman of the year as a junior and still rolling heads and shaking hands. We would love to know whats going on with him and where he ranks
Appreciate your thoughts on this one.
