Career Night for Bueckers in Hooptown

Uconn v Oklahoma Women's Basketball

SPOKANE, WA.–UConn Senior guard Paige Bueckers had a night for the ages as the UConn Huskies downed the Oklahoma Sooners 82-59 to head to a Monday night match-u with USC for the final spot in the 2025 Women’s Final Four.

Bueckers dropped a career high 40 including 6-8 from 3 range to end the KSU season in front of a UConn friendly Spokane crowd. It was not Bueckers first trip to Spokane, having participated, and won the Spokane Hoopfest 3-on-3 tournament in High School. It should be noted that Bueckers team included Hailey Van Lith whose TCU squad is heading to the Final Four, along with Aliyah Boston 2023 #1 pick of the WNBA’s Indiana Fever. Bueckers is widely thought to be this years #1 selection.

A career night for Bueckers, who would outscore the KSU Wildcats BY HERSELF in the 2nd half with a barrage of 3-pointers and basket cut layups to win the Huskeis trailed at halftime. The Huskies kept it close in the first half thanks to the cast of Unconn players such as reserve Ashlynn Shade and starter Sarah Strong. Oklahoma would be led by Payton Verhulst,- who had a hot hand of her own, dropping 16 on 4-9 shooting from beyond the arc.
